Make-A-Wish

Wednesday, March 20th, 2013
Saturday, March 9, was the Make-A-Wish Gala.  We’ve been framing the wish kids’ art for auction for about 5 years now.  Three pieces were in the live auction.

The princesses sold for $3,500. The solar system piece sold for $10,000. The Husky dog (by Cody, aka agent C) was the centerpiece of the whole night.

The theme of the night was “Mission Incredible.”  Cody’s wish was to be a secret agent. His wish was videoed and shown at the event!  For the auction, the evil villain, Rex Velvet, and the Social Villains Alliance stole the husky art and challenged Agent C to catch him.  (We had made a dummy frame as an empty prop!) Naturally, by the end, good triumphed over evil and the husky piece sold for $13,000!

The evening raised $1.25 MILLION for Make a Wish!

Archival framing is the best means to protect your artifact and family heirloom, by surrounding it with inherently acid-free materials. Our frames are sealed to prevent any dirt and dust from entering. Our mounts are always adapted to best fit the needs for the artifact and owner.

Happy Accident

Monday, March 14th, 2011

Our customer, Sean MacLean, was at a charity auction and decided to bid on this gorgeous ceramic art plate. He wanted it really bad. He was outbid at the end, much to his disappointment. A short while later, he went to a friend’s house for dinner and there in his entry was the plate! They didn’t realize they were bidding against each other and had a good chuckle about it. That night, Sean accidentally bumped the table it was resting on and the plate fell to the ground and shattered. Sean picked up the pieces and brought them to me! My good customer and friend, Rich Adler, was in the shop that day and we all brainstormed and came up with this idea! We gave it a second life as new art and Sean presented it to his friend!

The Owl and the Woodpecker

We framed this show!

Go see Seattle photographer and author Paul Bannick’s awe-inspiring photographs and our handiwork on March 19 at the Burke Museum.

The Owl and the Woodpecker introduces museum visitors to the most important species of owls and woodpeckers in North America, illustrating how they define and enrich the specific habitats on which they depend, and highlighting the critical importance of conservation.
