Trunk Show at NuBe Green

Spring 2011 Launch Party & Trunk Show
Wednesday March 9
6 t0 8pm
at NuBe Green

NUBE Seattle is NuBe Green’s new private-label line of women’s sculptural garments, crafted entirely from local materials by local artisans. Materials consist of re-purposed garments and cast offs, as well as locally grown fibers from sustainable farms. Using these sources, seamstresses, knitters, spinners, paper makers, and felters design unique, one of a kind pieces that directly reflect the local character of the Pacific Northwest. The goal of this line, available exclusively at NuBe Green, is to continually re-discover local materials, to celebrate local craft, and to refine ‘sustainable’ design.

Designer Adrienne Antonson is an artist living on Vashon Island. She is the creative force behind the NUBE Seattle line, managing its production, material selection, and aesthetic cohesion. Antonson’s sculptural and garment-based work revolves around ideas of sustainability and self-sufficiency. Using materials that reference her immediate surroundings, she makes work that is intricate and sentimental.

FALL 2010
Influenced by the alpaca farm on which designer Adrienne Antonson lives, the first NUBE collection features alpaca fleece in the form of knitwear and felted garments and accessories. Jackets, smocks, and frocks are adorned with leather and woolen details.

SPRING 2011
Sourcing vintage silks in a muted palette of spring shades, the second NUBE collection focuses on romantic prints, fluttering layers and prim jackets.

Seattle Fastframe and the Madison Valley Stormwater Project

March 2nd, 2011

We are here. We have survived the recession. Business is picking up and we are thrilled to be working on several exciting new framing commissions including an entire exhibition of photographs by noted Naturalist and award-winning Seattle-based photographer, Paul Bannick, scheduled to open at the Burke Museum on March 19.

The future is looking positive but we need the continued support of our local customers as the Madison Valley Stormwater Project construction moves ahead. Over the past several decades, there have been a number of instances of flooding and sewer back-ups in Madison Valley during times of heavy rain fall. Seattle Public Utilities is currently installing a new stormwater conveyance and storage system to greatly reduce the potential for flooding in the Valley. We absolutely recognize the importance of this project and are in no way opposed to it: We simply do not want to become a casualty. Madison Valley shops are small businesses run by local people. Don’t forget — for every $100 spent at a local small business, $68 returns to the community

It is inevitable that there will be disruptions and disturbances during this process and we appreciate your patience. Remember, we are flexible. JUST ASK! We will pick up work to be framed, we will do in home consultations, we will deliver completed projects to your doorstep.

We will be sending out Stormwater Project updates though Facebook so please “Like” us and tell your friends to do the same. Additionally, we are going begin offering screaming one day discount via Facebook at Molly’s whim. Don’t miss out.
